Money in the Bank 2026: New Orleans date, card, and how to watch WWE’s first October briefcase show

Money in the Bank 2026, also billed as Money in the Bank: New Orleans, is WWE’s 17th annual premium live event built around the ladder match for a championship contract. It is set for Saturday, October 10, 2026, at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, with wrestlers from Raw and SmackDown.

The show is the first Money in the Bank scheduled for October, the latest date the event has ever occupied on the calendar, and the first held after SummerSlam. It is also the first to stream on ESPN in the United States.

Background

WWE has staged Money in the Bank every year since 2010, usually between May and July. It began as a pay-per-view and later simulcast on the company’s streaming platforms. Along with WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, SummerSlam, and Survivor Series, it is treated as one of the promotion’s five biggest shows of the year. The concept is the ladder match WWE introduced years earlier: several wrestlers climb for a briefcase suspended above the ring. Inside is a contract that guarantees the winner a world-title match of their choosing at any time over the next year.

New Orleans was originally lined up for WrestleMania 42 in April 2026. On May 22, 2025, WWE said the city would no longer host that event. The change was part of a broader deal under which New Orleans would receive a future WrestleMania and the 2026 Money in the Bank. The next day, Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque confirmed the show for Saturday, August 29, 2026.

The date moved twice after that. On October 22, 2025, WWE shifted it to Sunday, September 6, 2026, and named the Smoothie King Center as the venue. On June 8, 2026, the company pushed the event back another month to Saturday, October 10, at the same arena, while Sunday Night’s Main Event took the September 6 date at State Farm Arena in Atlanta. Fightful Select reported that the October move was tied to a conflict with broadcast partners. Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer said production-truck and touring conflicts in September were the larger issue, with trucks unable to reach New Orleans in time. A merchandise store at the Smoothie King Center is scheduled to open Thursday, October 8, and stay open through the end of the show.

The matches

Men’s and women’s ladder matches are the centerpiece. The men’s winner receives a contract for a championship match of his choosing; the women’s winner receives a contract for either the WWE Women’s Championship or the Women’s World Championship. Both contracts are valid for one year.

Announced matches:

  • Bron Breakker vs. Je’Von Evans vs. Trick Williams vs. Penta vs. CM Punk vs. Kevin Owens — Money in the Bank ladder match for a men’s championship contract
  • Sol Ruca vs. Lola Vice vs. Jacy Jayne vs. Roxanne Perez vs. Lash Legend vs. Tiffany Stratton — Money in the Bank ladder match for a women’s championship contract

How to watch

The event airs on traditional pay-per-view worldwide. In the United States it streams on ESPN’s direct-to-consumer service (ESPN App with an ESPN Unlimited plan), with a listed start around 6 p.m. ET. Netflix carries it in most international markets, and SuperSport carries it in Sub-Saharan Africa. This is the first Money in the Bank on ESPN in the U.S., following the end of WWE’s Peacock deal for main-roster premium live events after Clash in Paris in August 2025.
