Return of the Grizzlies: Conservation in Action

This YouTube video was produced by The Nature Conservancy of Canada.

When the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) conserved the vast forested refuge of Darkwoods in 2008, the grizzly bear population that roamed these lands needed help. They were isolated from other bears and their numbers were dwindling.

Now, through careful land management and collaboration with research scientists, NCC has been able to achieve a major conservation success: fully reversing the population decline of these grizzly bears.

In this video, Grizzly bear research Dr. Michael Proctor and NCC’s Adrian Leslie discuss how we worked together to completely flip the story for these bears.

The Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) is Canada’s leading national land conservation organization. Since 1962, NCC and our partners have helped to conserve 15 million hectares of ecologically significant land nationwide.
