In Kafue National Park, Zambia’s largest protected area, a team of biologists and vets from the Zambian Carnivore Programme races against time to protect Africa’s apex predators. With the rainy season approaching, they must fit new satellite collars, track missing animals, and respond to emergencies involving injured wildlife. Milan Vinks, an American biologist, and Zambian vet Dr. Kambwiri Banda work together to collar a Wild Dog pack’s alpha male and track a Cheetah developing new hunting strategies in thick woodland. However, their biggest challenge comes when a Lion is found caught in a snare, and the team must perform emergency surgery while facing the threat of an Elephant herd charging. This is conservation at its most dangerous and urgent.
