“Wings of Asia – The Beauty of Birds” by Ron Magill

The “Wings of Asia” aviary is one of the premiere exhibits at Zoo Miami. Housing hundreds of Southeast Asian birds, representing over 70 different species, it is the largest aviary of its kind in the entire Western Hemisphere. Incorporating a wide variety of plants and mature trees as well as beautiful water features, it is much more than a bird exhibit, it is an environmental exhibit showcasing a variety of habitats. This video captures every species living in the aviary at the time it was produced. How many can you name? With bird populations around the world plummeting over the last several decades, it is hoped that a visit to the Wings of Asia aviary will inspire a greater appreciation for birds as well as a desire to protect them for generations to come.
