Liuwa Plains National Park, a once-thriving African grassland, was devastated by poaching during Angola’s civil war, leaving only a single Lioness(Panthera leo), Lady Liuwa, to roam its vast plains. With peace restored, conservationists are working tirelessly to rebuild the ecosystem, reintroducing Lions and monitoring predators like hyenas and Cheetahs(Acinonyx jubatus) using radio collars. Their efforts are paying off, as grazing herds return and Liuwa slowly reclaims its wild majesty.
