Two Black Rhinos in Zambia, Apson and Kango, are at the heart of a critical relocation mission aimed at saving their species. Kango, a 14-year-old bull, was one of the first rhinos reintroduced to Zambia after poaching drove them to extinction in the 1990s. Now strong enough to fend for himself, he’s ready to leave his enclosure and make room for Apson, a young female who has strayed outside the safety of North Luangwa National Park and into poacher territory. Conservationists Ed Sayer and Claire Lewis lead the complex operation to move these precious rhinos and ensure their survival. Meanwhile, a dedicated team of Wildlife Police Officers undergoes intense training to combat poaching, the rhinos’ biggest threat.
