In Newfoundland there are four members of the Crow family of birds, they are:
- American crow (Corvus brachyrhynchos)
- Blue Jay (Cyanocitta cristata)
- Common Raven (Corvus corax)
- Gray Jay (Perisoreus canadensis)
They inhabit woodlands but can also be seen in towns, They feed on carrion, eggs, fruit, insects, nestlings, and seeds.

The common raven is 61 to 69 cm long, weighs 1.1 to 1.5 kg, and has a wingspan of 1.3 to 1.4 meters. The gray jay is 27 cm to 30 cm long, weighs 65 to 80 grams, and has a wingspan of approximately 50 cm.
